Sick child and his family supported by Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney

About Us

We believe when families are together, they cope better.  We believe no family should have to deal with their child’s medical crisis alone.

Life-changing support for families with ill or injured children

Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney is an independent non-profit organisation founded in 1981.

We surround families with a community of support and the resources they need to stay at the heart of their child’s care, helping ensure the best possible health outcomes.

Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney Westmead is a 60-room House just steps away from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW). With support from our community, we provide meals, counselling, education services, social and recreational activities, everyday essentials, community, and hope.

We also provide a Day Pass Program at our Westmead House, where families with a child who is a patient of the hospital can access our ground floor facilities every day, including meals and refreshments.

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room in CHW serves as a calm space away from the medical environment, where families stay close while taking a moment to breathe.

Our Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney Hospitality Carts operate on the children’s wards of CHW and Nepean and Campbelltown Hospitals. They help families stay comforted and close with the little things that make big days easier.

In 2025, we supported close to 6,000 families, but this is only possible through the generosity of our community.
