Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney Family Room, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW) offers a calm space away from the medical environment, where family stays close while taking a moment to breathe. It’s a safe place to rest, grab a bite to eat, freshen up, or simply pause during long days of tests and treatment.
Staffed by our compassionate volunteers, the Family Room gives vital respite for parents and carers. Research* shows that 87% of families using Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms experience improved emotional well-being, and 90% report better rest and physical health.

The Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney Family Room in Westmead is located at Level 2, Block K at CHW.
Families may enter through the Children’s Short Stay Unit. Please use the intercom at the entrance of the ward to be let through.
Monday, 15th June – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Tuesday, 16th June – 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Wednesday, 17th June – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Thursday, 18th June – 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Friday, 19th June – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Saturday, 20th June – Closed
Sunday, 21st June – Closed
All families with an admitted child at CHW are eligible to use the Family Room. Registration is required at no cost upon entry.
