Community team-building that brings comfort and compassionate care
Weekends are for family. At Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney, we’re here for families every day of the week.
That’s why we invite community groups, clubs, teams, and family and friend groups to step in on weekends through Weekend Cook & Care. By spending just a few hours in our kitchen, you give families something priceless: time. Time to rest, to recharge, to sit together and simply be a family.
For families balancing exhaustion and uncertainty, that can mean everything.
One weekend morning or evening can ease the load in a powerful way, helping families focus on healing and being close when it matters most.
When families are juggling hospital appointments, treatments, and long hours at their child’s bedside, mealtimes often fall to the bottom of the priority list.
You’re offering more than just nourishment by taking care of their meals during the weekends; you’re easing the emotional and mental load that comes with caring for an ill or injured child.
It’s one less thing for families to worry about, and one more way they feel supported.

Comforting and no-fuss meals
After your Weekend Cook & Care experience, your group will have the opportunity to share a meal with families – a chance to connect and see the impact of your generosity firsthand.
Our meal programs are only possible because of the generosity of community and corporate groups. Your involvement directly helps us provide comfort, care, and practical relief to families during one of the most challenging times in their lives.
The booking fee is a tax-deductible donation that helps us reach our goal of increasing meal services by 70%. This growth will allow us to provide at least one nutritious meal per day, not only to families staying at the House, but across the wider Westmead Health Precinct.
Simply register by selecting your preferred date via the calendar below, and we will be in touch. For more information, call (02) 9806 7111, email [email protected], or fill in the enquiry form below.
