Group Volunteering

Be a part of a community that cares.

Meaningful team-building with real social impact

When a child is ill or injured, the entire family hurts, and they both deserve to be surrounded by care.

At Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney, we care for the entire family unit. We provide more than just a place to stay; we create space for comfort, connection, and everyday moments that help families cope through some of their toughest days.

One of the most powerful ways the community can support families is through our Group Volunteering programs. By volunteering together, groups build morale and camaraderie while making big days a little bit easier for families.

Whether you’re preparing meals, baking treats, or lending a hand with maintenance, your time and kindness help ease the daily pressures families face, so they can focus on their child’s health.

Why group volunteering matters

We know that a family who is cared for, and stays together, can cope better.

After long days at the hospital, families return to the House physically and emotionally drained. A warm meal and a welcoming space offer more than practical support: it’s a moment of relief, a reminder of community, and a gesture of kindness that stays with them long after the day ends.

"The meal programs at Ronald McDonald House are a lifeline for our family during a pretty tough time in our lives. After long days at the hospital, having a warm, home-cooked meal waiting for us means more than we can express. It gives us one less thing to worry about, and reminds us that we aren't alone—that there is a whole community supporting us."

"The House is so much more than just somewhere to stay. It's comfort, friendship, understanding and love. It's allowing kids and their families a place that is home and taking some of the burden away. There are so many ways to support the work of this amazing charity... but it's here and only because of amazing people who support the House."
